Why independence

VCT was founded on a frustration: in the damp industry, the people who diagnose the problem are usually the people who profit from the cure. A "free survey" is a sales appointment, and the answer is too often the most expensive one — chemical injection, tanking, replastering — whether the building needs it or not.

We do it differently. We diagnose, and we don't sell remediation — no treatments, no damp-proofing, no building work. That independence means our only interest is getting the answer right, and it's why owners, buyers, landlords and agents across South Wales trust our reports.

A genuine specialism

Our focus is the older and traditional buildings that make up so much of the Welsh valleys — the pre-1919 solid-wall terraces and period homes that modern damp methods so often get wrong. Understanding how these buildings are built to breathe is at the heart of every diagnosis, backed by a deliberate stack of qualifications and proper forensic equipment rather than a salesperson's clipboard.
